Neither the setting nor the tacos need to be nearly as fancy as they are here, and I was all prepared to grumble about that, but the truth is that if you can put aside the price and the ambience (which was dark and barren on a weekday lunch) this place is just delicious. The homemade tortillas are thin but firm, the four homemade salsas are all excellent, and dispensed in squeeze bottles that you can take home, and even if the pork belly for my al pastor taco was a little uninspired, the tortillas and salsas are so excellent that I just scarfed it down happily.

The food was delicious and the lamb shank is a must have! I was slightly disappointed with the fluke tartare and wish we went with another appetizer. We also got the rice as a side and churros for dessert. Service was friendly, though it's a pet peeve of mine to when the host asks someone to wait at the bar when the restaurant is empty (at least offer to seat them at the table!). We were there on a Wednesday evening for an early 6:30pm dinner and it was packed by the time we left. Ambiance is nice, but the restaurant can be a bit loud. Overall a really lovely dinner!

~ Guacamole (4/5) ~ I don't know why I have seen reviews complaining the lack of tortilla chips / small portion, I personally think the portion is just right. There are 12 chips, and they are huge! (We are a party of 3 adults and 1 kid) It's not the paper thin kinda chips, but thicker and harder, which I quite enjoy. Guac is delicious, very creamy, fresh, with a great citrusy flavour. ~ Striped Bass Ceviche (3.5/5) ~ Very citrusy and refreshing ceviche, with gooseberry and celery. I do find it a bit too salty though, otherwise I really enjoyed it. It also came with like 12 chips, we couldn't finish it becoz we also got the chips from guac! ~ Al Pastor (5/5) ~ The grande dishes are all build your own taco. I personally don't mind getting my hands dirty, and it's fun building the tacos! The dish came with a great presentation. Pork belly is fried to crispy on the outside, with a great charring flavour, and the meat is very tender and juicy. It came with cracklings on top!!!! I love the pork cracklings, they are quite light and very crispy, gave the dish an extra crunch / texture. There are also pineapple, adding some acidic and sweet flavour to lighten up the greasiness of pork belly. Salsa de aguacate is very light, creamy, and mildly flavoured, great sauce to go with the tacos! The dish came with 6 soft flour tortillas, so we made 6 tacos. There are enough lime wedges, onion, cilantro, radishes to build our tacos, all tested very fresh. ~ Long Island Duck (5/5) ~ Surprisingly good!!! I thought we'd get like shredded duck that would probably be tough, I was so wrong! They actually served perfectly seared medium rare duck breast and duck confit. The duck skin is very crispy with a thin layer of fat that melts in your mouth, none of those chewy rubbery bullshit. The duck breast is very tender and juicy, and have no tendons. Duck confit is tender, juicy and much more flavourful. I feel like duck breast is a dish that is highly dependent on the quality of meat and cooking skills. I have had duck breast in the past at french restaurants that is not as good as this one. So yes I am pretty impressed that this Mexican restaurant did it right. It came with a sauce, I believe is salsa macha? I don't think how to describe this sauce, but it's sweet and savoury and goes nicely with the duck. Again, we made 6 delicious tacos. ~ Churros (5/5) ~ Very good churros! There are 4 pieces and they are HUGE. Very thick and long, freshly fried and covered in delicious sugar and cinnamon, and perhaps a small pinch of salt as well? As I did taste a hint of savoury that's almost negligible but I enjoyed it. Crispy, beautiful golden brown outside, with a soft and moist inside. Scrumptious! Will I be back? Yes Whilst the price is on the higher end, I think the quality of food justifies it, and our server was attentive. Me and my family had a great night here!

Enjoyable meal from start to finish. Sleek, lively Mexian restaurant in Flatiron. Indoor and outdoor seating. Dim lighting, plenty of seating, and long bar. The cocktails were strong and refreshing. The guac was arguably the best I've had in the city. Other reviews commented on the serving size, but honestly it was the perfect amount. It was fresh and had a nice spice to it. The chips were perfectly crisp and salty. From there, we had the tuna crudo. Definitely order this. The full bite of tuna, avocado crema, and the Serrano pepper was so so good. The carnitas tacos were the standout. The crispiness and flavor of the pork displayed in every bite. The lamb shank birria was fun and filling. Would definitely get for a group as it easily made 6 tacos if not more.

Great vibe, great food and terrific service. The cocktails had unique and delicious flavors. We sampled a lot, four different cocktails, guacamole, ceviches, taquitos, plantains, tacos, the duck and the leg of lamb. My friends over ordered. Although we thoroughly enjoyed all the food, I felt it a bit pricy. It's $17 for two small tacos. The guacamole was a SMALL portion. The cocktails were filled with large pieces of craft ice. Less ice would have been preferable for $17 drinks. They even charge extra for salsa! The bill can really add up Even though I felt it pricy for Mexican food I would go back and just order less.

3.5 for food 4 for drinks 5 for service A really fun and vibrant space with great service. We tried the guacamole, salsa verde, potato and queso flautas, hongos asada tacos, rice and beans, and churros - everything was really tasty with proper spice and great flavor. The flautas were my favorite with a super crispy shell and deliciously melty on the inside. It's clear they are using quality ingredients. Cocktail menu is great and unique for a Mexican restaurant - I had the Al Rato, Vato, and loved the flavors. The restaurant was loud on a Thursday night, which was no problem for us, just noting in case of sensitivities or if you're looking for a more mellow spot. Would go back and definitely recommend!

So far I've been here twice. One with a friend and this last time i dined alone. Both times i was serviced by the same gentleman, Mark. He's also the bartender. I see him holding a few hats in here. THIS is my new fav place. The vibe here is awesome. The music playing was great and had me dancing in my seat. Since i go here during lunch time, it isn't full. Theres more then enough available seats. It wasn't loud inside. Its perfect. Both times i ended up ordering guac and chips. They are not like regular traditional triangle chips but they are still good. Instead they cut the tortillas in half and fry them up that big. The guac is tasty. They dont add anything to it. So I did miss the tomatoes and onions mixed into it and jalapeños. The Cilantro also isnt mixed in, instead the dish is garnished with fresh Cilantro on the stem and all. I ended up cutting it myself and mixing it in. Still a good item to order. The first time i ordered a traditional Margarita. This last time I decided to order off of the menu. I got This Guey. Its a frozen drink and had a little smokey flavor to it. It was good though. I cant wait to try another drink on the menu. First time i went i ordered the carnitas tacos and they were tasty. The last time i got the Carne asada tacos and they were also delicious. I left here both times full. Which is a good thing. The restaurant itself is BEAUTIFUL. They did a really good job designing the layout. I personally love the look of the bar. Its so sleek and clean. I cannot wait to be back...

Great service, great food but a bit of a splurge even for the quality provided. If you're in the mood for good tacos and great service and willing to spend a bit for it, would def recommend! We ordered 2 apps, 2 taco sets (2 tacos each) and 1 main plate to share between 2 and we were beyond stuffed - could have done without the main plate which probably also would have made the meal a lot more reasonably priced. Think the tacos were honestly the highlight and wish we had ordered more of them to try rather than exploring the rest of the menu. For apps, we got the tuna crudo and scallops. Crudo flavoring was great and the tuna was decent. Scallop quality was amazing but the sauce wasn't quite up my alley. Love more sour flavors and this was more on the refreshing and healthy side. For tacos we got the pescado frito and lengua (tongue). We were worried about portion sizes given historical reviews and the fact that there are only 2 tacos per order but they are heavy handed with the toppings which was wonderful. The fish was amazing! So so soft with a wonderfully thin and crispy exterior. Fell apart in my mouth. Lengua was also good and I'm not a huge fan of tongue, but this was tasty and very very fatty. A bit too heavy for me but still a tasty dish. Lamb shank birria was ok. It was soft as you'd expect and it was a DIY taco situation. Flavoring was also quite good but not amazing and the consommé was also just okay. Could have done without this dish.
